Removing a background is easy. Removing it so the product still looks photographed — with its own weight, edge and shadow — is the part automated tools get wrong.
Solid products are cut with hand-drawn pen paths. Hair, fur, mesh and translucent items are masked instead, because a hard path through soft detail leaves a cut-out, plastic edge.
Colour from the original backdrop bleeds onto edges, especially on light products shot against grey. We neutralise that spill so nothing shows a coloured fringe once it sits on white.
You choose: keep the original shadow, rebuild a natural one, add a clean drop shadow, or deliver with none. Products floating with no grounding look unconvincing, so we advise per product type.
A second retoucher checks the run for matching white point, crop, scale and shadow direction, so a full catalogue looks like one shoot rather than fifty separate jobs.
